About The Position

Encompass Community Services provides nearly 40 health and human services programs to the Santa Cruz community, supporting youth and families, early childhood education, behavioral health, housing, and more. For nearly 50 years, Encompass has helped people access education, rebuild relationships, restore health and wellness, and regain dignity. The organization offers comprehensive training and professional development opportunities in areas such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care Practices, Community Resiliency Model, Mindfulness-Based Therapy Practices, Crisis Intervention and De-escalation, and Cultural/Racial Awareness and Equity. Encompass provides excellent clinical supervision and support for clinicians earning hours towards licensure, including weekly individual and group supervisions with highly experienced and qualified licensed CA BBS therapists. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling or Psychology.
  • Registration with the California BBS required (AMFT, LMFT, APCC, LPCC only).
  • Applicant may be in the last quarter practicum at a BBS accredited University.
  • Clinical experience with diverse populations, including established competency and experience in specialized areas of child, adolescent, and family counseling.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States.
  • Criminal Record Clearance before hire.
  • Valid Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide remote telehealth services and in-person services at clinics and in the community for youth ages 3-20 and their families.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments.
  • Develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and family therapy.
  • Offer case management services.
  • Provide crisis support.
  • Complete Medi-Cal documentation, including Progress notes, Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths assessments, psychosocial assessments, and treatment planning.
  • Meet productivity requirements (currently 50% direct services with clients/families).
  • Maintain appropriate and timely documentation through the Avatar system.
  • Attend weekly individual and group clinical supervision.
  • Work closely with Children’s Behavioral Health and other community providers.
  • Represent the agency in a professional and collaborative manner.
