About The Position

Youth Services Caseworkers are responsible for forming and maintaining strong partnerships with the youth on their caseload and their families for the purpose of supporting participants as they set and work toward their individual goals. Caseworkers will work 1:1 with youth to identify goals and create an action plan for obtaining the skills necessary to accomplish each goal. In addition, Youth Services Caseworkers will assist youth participants with learning problem solving skills, improving communication and gaining independent living skills. Youth Services Caseworkers will also be required to plan and supervise youth in the community when attending field trips, workshops, college visits, etc. Work one on one with participants to promote the development and growth of independent living skills, job readiness, explore colleges and careers, and enhance academic performance. Attend community activities with individual or small group such as school tours and field trips. Teach participants how to function independently, such as teaching how to open a bank account and budgeting, acquire safe housing, interpersonal on intrapersonal skills, and homelessness prevention. Transport individuals when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Drug & Alcohol Counseling, Human Services, Education or related field is required.

  • Supervision of adolescents experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Form and maintain relationships with participants, their families and support systems, schools, community employers and partners.
  • Work one-on-one with participants to promote the development and growth of soft skills and independent living skills.
  • Work with participants to teach independent living skills related to work and school.
  • Attend all court dates with clients, transporting clients to the court appearance if necessary.
  • Develop, plan, and facilitate workshops.
  • Work with participants to develop positive work skills, explore colleges and careers, and to learn job readiness skills.
  • Teach participants how to function independently, such as teaching how to open a bank account and budgeting, interpersonal on intrapersonal skills.
  • Connect clients and their families to appropriate community resources to ensure continued success following program completion.
  • Maintain open communication with the referral sources on a consistent basis.
  • Complete all documentation and data entry in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all federal and state regulations and agency policies pertaining to HIPAA, false claims, whistleblower policies, and all others.
  • Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
