About The Position

DREAM has launched in Maine! Join a small team of passionate and dedicated employees working to fulfill DREAM's mission in Maine: closing the opportunity gap for youth living in affordable housing communities. This position is a Maine based position with the goal of supporting the Maine expansion. The Youth Service Manager will work alongside DREAM staff, families, and youth to assist site expansion & support existing program sites in Maine. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: strategic thinking, be excited and motivated by fundraising opportunities and possess excellent program, staff and youth support & management skills. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in managing a group of employees, service members and/or volunteers.
  • Demonstrated practice or education serving and supervising individuals who have a variety of lived experiences in a manner that is respectful and aware of how those experiences impact who they are as individuals and as a community.
  • 2+ years experience in organizations focused on youth development.
  • Demonstrated skills in positive communication among a team.
  • Experience maintaining an organizational property, office, and/or program space.
  • Computer proficiency: comfort with Microsoft Office apps, Google's GSuite and email communication; database experience; accounting software experience.
  • Familiarity with AmeriCorps grant requirements and mentoring program requirements as expressed by CNCS and state and local regulations, respectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and set priorities while giving consideration to staff, the organization, and the self.
  • Creativity, energy, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A contagious energy for DREAM’s work.
  • Comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain high quality, community-based relationships through successful management of program sites
  • Build relationships with DREAM Staff, Americorps members, volunteer mentors youth and their families.
  • Support overall functioning and management of assigned sites
  • Assure DREAM staff, Americorps members, volunteer mentors are trained, supported and prepared intentionally to provide high quality, youth centered programming.
  • Support DREAM Maine’s expansion
  • Support the expansion, development, and roll out of new sites in the Maine region through ongoing fundraising efforts, strategic thinking, and relationship/base building.
  • Expand networking, collaboration, and community partnerships to expand funding, increase volunteer and donor base, and build sustainability of DREAM programming in Maine
  • Manage day to day programs and activities with fidelity to its models, with the intention of continuing to strive toward excellence and expand our offering to as many eligible youth as possible.
  • Participate as a member of DREAM’s Employee & Member Support team by attending regular meetings and driving strategy and execution of initiatives.
  • Communication regularly and professionally with mentors, parents and partners.
  • Communication with DREAM’s broader community as needed to advance the mission.
