About The Position

The Front is looking for a Youth Programs Instructor at their Ogden Gym. This role involves coaching youth team athletes, running After-School Program sessions, leading birthday parties, and guiding youth groups. The instructor will work with climbers of all ages and abilities to help them build skills, confidence, and a love for the sport, while prioritizing safety and enthusiasm. The Front aims to create innovative climbing facilities that maximize the climbing experience, spark connections, and grow a proud community.

Requirements

Genuine love for teaching and connecting with children.
Availability for afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
5+ years of experience across work, higher education, or trade training.
Ability to motivate young athletes with clear, positive communication.
High energy, a great attitude, and team spirit.
First Aid/CPR certification and Safe Sport training (or willingness to obtain).
Physically capable of reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
Experience in building systems and checklists.
Commitment to prioritizing member experience and solving problems on the fly.

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of experience in climbing instruction or programming.

Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on climbing instruction and training to kids of all ages and abilities.
Apply solid assessment and program design principles to keep sessions engaging and effective.
Greet every participant with energy and warmth and learn their names.
Monitor the climbing area for safety, preventing unsafe behavior (e.g., loose kids in fall zones, gear on mats, running).
Ensure children stay in designated zones and do not disrupt other members.
Assist in maintaining gym resources and facilities.
Be flexible and assist with other tasks as needed.
