About The Position

The Youth Program Coordinator develops and coordinates the Centro San Jose (CSJ) Youth program by assisting with recruitment, retention, marketing, and community involvement. This position reports to the Early Childhood and Family Center Director.

Requirements

  • AA/AS degree.
  • Knowledge of resources in New Haven for youth,
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • High levels of personal characteristics including, but not limited to the following: enthusiasm, competency, empathy, and warmth.
  • Firm but fair, encourage self-efficacy and model pro-social beliefs.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) strongly encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate the CSJ Youth program for youth age 14-21
  • Assume a lead role in the recruitment and retention of eligible youth participants
  • Coordinate with other program staff the planning and implementation of academic and recreational programs.
  • Conduct and attend meetings with sub-contractors and community partners as necessary/appropriate
  • Participate in on-going professional development
  • Represent the Youth Program and Family Center at various community meetings, collaborative, etc dedicated to youth.
  • Coordinate the enrollment, assessment and data system of youth in the program.
  • Coordinate and develop parent outreach materials.
  • Review all programmatic documentation (i.e. group events, attendance, evaluations, etc.) and take a lead role in program data analysis and quality improvement.
  • Coordinate implementation of events.
  • Complete reports as required.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Ensure and monitor the consistent collection of data by direct reports
  • Identify patterns and trends of program services
  • Compare data outcomes against established agency benchmarks
  • Develop and implement improvement plans as needed, eliminating any identified problems
  • Use results of data to inform decision making
