About The Position

Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income individuals and families to become self-reliant through integrated services in housing, employment, and education. We believe in the power of community and the potential of every person. When joining PPL, you become a part of a diverse team whose goal is to assist our residents and communities with the groundwork they need not only to survive but also to thrive. The Youth Program Assistant (YPA) Intern supports dynamic programming for youth who have experienced homelessness, helping create opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about youth development and community impact. YPAs design and lead engaging enrichment activities based on their interests and strengths while fostering positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners. Through mentorship and encouragement, they help create a safe, supportive environment where young people can build confidence and thrive.

Requirements

Self-starter and self-directed, ability to work independently on assigned projects
Experience with youth (after-school program, camp counseling, tutoring, etc.)
Able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and engage diverse youth
Ability to adhere to HIPPAA and data privacy requirements
Willingness to work on site and directly with youth
Ability to commit to full school-year term (Sept. 2026 – May 2027)
