About The Position

The Youth Prevention Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating operational, administrative, and grant-related functions that support the success of NARA NW's Youth Prevention Program. This position serves as a key liaison between the Youth Prevention team and the Grants Management, Evaluation, and Finance departments to ensure effective communication, compliance, reporting, and program implementation. The Manager supports culturally responsive prevention programming for Native American youth ages 10–24, helping to reduce substance use and suicide risk through community-based prevention activities and partnerships. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, skilled in project coordination and data management, and committed to building positive relationships with youth, families, Tribal communities, and partner organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of youth prevention programming, including mental health, suicide prevention, and substance use prevention.
  • Experience with grant management, compliance, reporting, data tracking, and program evaluation.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with diverse populations using culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must pass required drug screening, criminal background, and DMV checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Native American/Alaska Native youth, families, and communities.
  • Experience working in nonprofit, Tribal, public health, behavioral health, or community-based organizations.
  • Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) credential; or ability to obtain certification within two (2) years of hire.
  • Experience facilitating prevention, wellness, or suicide prevention trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage grant-funded projects by tracking timelines, deliverables, budgets, reporting deadlines, and performance measures.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve systems for tracking grant outcomes, objectives, program activities, and required documentation.
  • Prepare grant reports, outcome summaries, and supporting documentation within established deadlines.
  • Oversee data collection, quality assurance, and reporting processes for Youth Prevention programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate measurement of program goals, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Youth Prevention Program and internal departments.
  • Coordinate meetings, project activities, and communication among program staff, leadership, funders, Tribal partners, schools, and community organizations.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Tribal communities, educational institutions, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support weekly Youth Nights, prevention groups, leadership development activities, and community events.
  • Attend and support Tribal Prevention Camp and other prevention-focused community engagement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate cultural humility and provide services that honor Native American traditions, values, and ways of knowing.
  • Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes the dignity and well-being of all individuals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of program and organizational goals.
