In this position, you will serve as Youth Prevention and Information Coordinator for Maine CDC’s Office of Injury and Violence Prevention. You will be responsible for collecting data on the health behaviors of Maine students and support upstream prevention programming with youth to improve health and wellbeing. You will focus on implementing the Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey (MIYHS) to collect and analyze data that will inform evidence-based prevention interventions to reduce tobacco and substance misuse, address unmet mental health needs, and increase protective factors. This includes all aspects of survey management, including oversight of question development, recruiting, survey administration, data analysis, and reporting. You will provide expertise to internal and external partners on best practices for using data to support interventions focused on building resilience, preventing tobacco and substance misuse, social and emotional learning, and addressing youth mental health needs. You will work closely with other members of the Office of Violence and Injury Prevention and other Maine CDC programs to ensure that community public health interventions incorporate evidence-based principles. You will be responsible for creating and managing contracts with Department-funded providers, including oversight of budgets and deliverables.
