About The Position

This is a 10-hour per week part-time position that will work closely with the Grant's Trail Family Pastor in overseeing many aspects of the youth ministry. Some of these aspects include volunteers, occasional teaching, and creating, implementing, and maintaining teams for the youth ministry (6th-12th grade). Creating community, culture, and trust amongst teams to further the reaches of the youth ministry is a top priority. This person will also possess the ability to jump into many different projects and tasks as needed. The ultimate goal is to create a safe environment for students all over the spiritual spectrum to take steps on their journey with Jesus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Basic administrative skills
  • Proven experience exhibiting a passion for youth
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attend a service at one of The Crossing campuses on a weekly basis
  • Passionate about their relationship with God
  • Baptized after making the thoughtful decision to follow Christ
  • Regard the Bible as God’s final authority in all areas of Christian life and desire to be wholly obedient to it
  • Wholeheartedly affirm The Crossing’s Statement of Faith, including our view on Baptism
  • Live a lifestyle consistent with scriptural principles

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with YouthCrossing Leadership development staff to oversee Middle school and High school volunteers including recruiting, training, and leadership development
  • Responsible for leading student-leader teams, including recruiting, developing, training, organizing team building activities
  • Communicate from stage on Wednesdays regularly – Announcements, games, and occasional teaching
  • Communicate with student and adult volunteer teams through weekly emails
  • Assist Family Pastor with planning and executing events
  • Building meaningful Christ-Centered relationships with students
  • Assist with implementing follow up with new and current students
  • Be proactive and have initiative to troubleshoot and evaluate in order to expand ministry
  • Assist Family Pastor with various responsibilities for Wednesday night services
  • Attend and assist with the planning of YC ‘One’ events and trips (Summer camp, Winterblast, mission experience, Summer Tour, etc.)
  • Provide assistance to YouthCrossing events on a needed basis
  • Other duties as assigned by the leadership team
