About The Position

The Night Watch Youth Mentor is directly responsible for the physical safety and security needs of each student during nighttime hours, as well as select clerical and custodial needs of the organization. This is a part-time position with 24-32 hours per week, reporting to the Night Watch Supervisor. The role qualifies for an additional $1.00/hour Shift Differential for swing shift hours (3:00pm-11:00pm). The schedule is typically 10:00pm-7:00am, with potential for split shifts (10:00pm-3:00am or 3:00am-7:00am), and days are to be determined.

Requires strong presence, emotional control, and ability to influence behavior in real time
Exceptional relationship skills

Ability to hold appropriate boundaries
Ability to receive and carry out instruction

Drivers license
Can pass a BCI

Responsibilities

Monitoring and maintaining boundaries surrounding lights out and bed-time protocols
Performing assigned Q10 minute checks
Enforcing students rules as needed
Charting in each student’s medical record under mentor
Communicating and reporting to shift supervisor
Supporting and assisting all other Telos departments in their job descriptions (i.e., nursing general cleaning and maintenance, answering telephones) as allowed by staffing ratios
Participating on assigned committees or special assignments
Assisting with runaway retrieval
Complying with and carrying out nighttime building and security protocols
Completing assigned cleaning chores
Assisting in filing and charting as assigned and as needed
Administration of medications as needed
