About The Position

Alba Youth Mentor is a role focused on providing guidance and support to young people facing challenges related to substance use, mental health, and/or houselessness. The mentor will build genuine connections, share relevant experiences, and empower youth to navigate complex systems and access resources. This role also involves supporting personal development through group sessions and individual meetings, as well as maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

• Relevant prior work experience, lived experience, or both
• Minimum of two years of experience working with high-risk youth and/or families, case management experience preferred
• Ability and commitment to working with sexual minorities and culturally diverse staff, participants, and community partners
• Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance.
• Understanding of the issues of substance abuse, mental health, trauma, abuse and adolescent development
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation, including any physical requirements.
• Willingness to work in moderate noise level environments and potentially be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Help young people navigate complex systems, access resources, collaborate and coordinate with other providers, and make informed decisions about their own recovery journey.
• Lead and participate in group sessions, recreational activities, and individual support meetings that foster connection and personal development.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.
