About The Position

Horizons North Credit Union is seeking a passionate and service-oriented Youth Financial Education & Member Engagement Specialist to develop and deliver financial education programs for younger members (teens through early-career adults). This role will promote financial wellness, support the credit union’s outreach into schools, community organizations, and digital education platforms, and provide hands-on assistance in opening new accounts and onboarding younger members. The goal is to ensure a positive and informed member experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer/member service experience preferred
  • Experience working with youth or community organizations is a plus
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts in simple, relatable terms
  • Approachable and enthusiastic educator
  • Organized and able to manage multiple programs at once
  • Comfortable with in-person and digital communication
  • Mission-oriented and community-focused

Responsibilities

  • Develop age-appropriate financial literacy curricula, workshops, presentations, and digital content
  • Partner with local high schools, colleges, youth programs, and community organizations to deliver education sessions
  • Host in-branch learning events and webinars for young members and their families
  • Act as the credit union’s representative at community events
  • In partnership with the credit union’s marketing team, develop messaging and campaigns to attract and engage younger members
  • Contribute content for social media, newsletters, and website financial education pages
  • Track engagement metrics and program participation results
  • Consult with young members and parents to understand financial goals and recommend products
  • Open new accounts and assist with digital banking enrollment
  • Provide guidance on credit building, responsible account usage, and long-term financial planning basics
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all member service, BSA, and COPPA procedures
