About The Position

SAFY is hiring a full-time Youth Drop-in Center Coordinator for our Lima BH division. As a Youth Drop-in Center Coordinator, you will coordinate the programs and services provided with the SAFY Youth Drop-In Center. At SAFY, our mission is Preserving Families & Securing Futures. Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively operate in a dynamic environment with monthly deadlines and annual performance goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and propose solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Attendance on the job unless approved by immediate supervisor
  • Ability to work flexible hours daily/weekly to fulfill position duties. Flexible work hours may be long workdays. Reliable phone system for communication
  • Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and de-escalation training
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Three years in a mental health field, with some knowledge & familiarity of behavior management principles and ways of facilitating behavior change.
  • One year minimum supervisory experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in the field of social work, counseling, psychology, or other license-eligible related field of human services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement all Drop-In Center services (Including program orientation for participants, peer participant groups, monthly education sessions, group activities, recreational programming, adult mentoring, community involvement and aftercare planning).
  • Assist in case related activities for all youth visiting the Drop-In Center.
  • Assist with the referral process or obtaining direct services for the youth within their community of origin.
  • Involvement with family and individual sessions for purpose of stabilizing and supporting positive change.
  • Assist with distribution of PR packets to county agencies and promoting the SAFY Youth Drop-In Center throughout the counties.
  • Meet annually with schools, social services agencies, and the business community within the three-county area served for PR purposes.
  • Responsible for outreach to all youth participating in Drop-In Center services in the three countries’ area.
  • Participating in joint meetings, problem identification and resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a supportive and positive working relationship with youth, foster parents, referring agencies, and other SAFY stake holders.
  • Monitor all documentation (services provided, intakes, incident reports, In-Kind) and day to day activities in the Center.
  • Mandated reporting.
  • Model and Coach staff.
  • Prepare monthly schedule for staff at Drop-In Center.
  • Attend relevant in-house and external seminars, training, conferences and workshops to develop and enhance knowledge in the designated area as well as achieve relevant education hours per year to enhance professional and job-related skills.
  • Attending meetings required within division, region, and central office (team and/or community partners).
  • Participate in assigned committees and chairs if so appointed. If appointed, maintains liaisons with state and national organizations.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor to discuss issues and performance.
  • Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences of staff, SAFY youth, foster parents, referral sources and the public.
  • Conduct new staff orientation training as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
