About The Position

The Youth Director plays a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the development of young individuals within the community by creating and overseeing programs that foster personal growth, leadership, and positive social engagement. This position requires a visionary leader who can design and implement dynamic activities that meet the diverse needs of youth, while promoting a safe and inclusive environment. The Youth Director collaborates closely with parents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure programs are relevant, impactful, and aligned with organizational goals. Success in this role is measured by the ability to inspire youth participation, enhance their skills and confidence, and contribute to their overall well-being. Ultimately, the Youth Director serves as a mentor and advocate, empowering young people to realize their potential and become active, responsible members of society.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working directly with youth in a leadership or program management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development and effective youth engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with youth, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Counseling, Nonprofit Management, or Public Administration.
  • Experience with grant writing and fundraising to support youth programs.
  • Certification in youth leadership training or related professional development.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and social media platforms to enhance youth outreach and engagement.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse cultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute engaging youth programs and events that address educational, social, and emotional development.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and staff involved in youth activities to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, and families to support youth initiatives and resource sharing.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through feedback, attendance, and outcome measurements, making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and administrative tasks related to youth programming, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements.
