Youth Development Professionals plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities provided within a specific program area: Social Recreation & Sports. They create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, ensure engagement, promote and stimulate participation, and consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activities. They establish rapport with youth, providing mentoring, guidance, role modeling, and overall direction for their leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement, and academic progress. This role involves effectively implementing and administering programs, services, and activities, while monitoring and evaluating them to ensure member safety and program quality. The professional will support members' emotional and social development, plan and facilitate purposeful activities, submit regular lesson plans and administrative duties, and participate in training and staff development. Maintaining close daily contact with staff, members, and supervisors is crucial, as is participating in club staff meetings to ensure a productive work environment. Daily cleaning, setup, and closing down of the program area are also mandatory.
