About The Position

Our mission is to help individuals achieve their highest level of capability and increase opportunities for their future success. We are committed to person-centered, family-focused services. We serve children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children experiencing mental health challenges, children who cannot remain at home and require foster care placement and children who are Unaccompanied Refugee Minors who come to the United States from around the world and whose lives have been torn apart due to conflict and oppression. This is a residential program working with children ages 7-14 with mental health diagnoses.

Requirements

Must be 21 years old.
Must have a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience working with at-risk children or teenagers, children or teenagers with mental health diagnosis or in another human service area or in a healthcare field OR Associates degree in Human Services or related field Required.
Will be required to successfully complete fingerprinting clearance.

Associates in Human Services preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care, supervise and act as a role model to clients who reside in a group home setting or out in the community.
Assist and teach clients day to day routines and basic living skills as defined in care plans.
Maintain household including meal planning and preparation.
Serve as a positive liaison to schools, parents, and others who have a relationship to clients.
Provide transportation for program/client activities.
Assist in academic needs and participate in and plan recreation as appropriate.
