The Youth Development Professional (YDP) plans and implements fun and engaging activities within BGCDCs 5 key program areas; Healthy Lifestyles, Character & Leadership, Sports & Recreation, Academic Success and the Arts within a DCF 251 licensed after school program. Additionally, the YDP will implement grant funded initiatives. The YDP will supervise and work with youth ages 5 to 12 and are responsible for creating an environment that supports positive youth development, serving as a role model and mentor and ensuring youth safety in an out-of-school environment. YDPs assume a role with a variety of age groups or be temporarily assigned to a specific group in the event of an absence. This position may include occasional evenings/weekend hours to accommodate special events, field trips, and community programs. The YDP is also expected to be flexible and adaptable, taking on other duties to support the organization's objectives.
