Youth Development Professional
About The Position
The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning, facilitating, and supervising activities and programs within a designated program area. This role emphasizes empowering youth to achieve their greatest potential by ensuring the safety of members, maintaining the quality of activities, and upholding the appearance of the Club at all times. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (BGCSDC) is seeking a Lead Youth Development Professional (YDP) to join their award-winning team. Club membership at locations in Sarasota, Venice, North Port and Arcadia is included for dependents ages 6-18. Professional development opportunities with complimentary access to Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Spillett Leadership University for online education and training are available.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Strong ability to mentor and inspire youth.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
- Commitment to promoting safety, quality, and a positive environment within the Club.
- Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver quality activities that encourage active participation from all members, fostering an environment that promotes growth and achievement.
- Provide mentorship and positive role modeling for club members, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Ensure the safety of all youth by maintaining a secure and nurturing environment.
- Maintain accurate list of members, schedules, and attendance to ensure efficient program management.
- Attend club staff meetings to collaborate on club initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and operations of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
- Be able to adapt and maintain composure in a Club environment that has several moving parts.
