About The Position

Zach Gordon Youth Services is looking for a Youth Development Leader to work directly with Juneau youth, providing on-site programming at either Geneva Woods or Cedar Park. The ideal candidate is dedicated to Juneau's youth and families, interested in creative, fun, and place-based program development. This role involves supporting and connecting with families through monthly family nights and communicating about upcoming activities. The position requires a self-starter who is organized, has a sense of humor, and values relationship building.

Requirements

Graduation from high school or the equivalent.
Two (2) courses from an accredited college in a human-related field may substitute for experience.
Any combination of work experience or post-secondary education totaling six (6) months in any field.
First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointment.
A valid driver's license at time of appointment is preferred but not required.
Criminal records report (Non-FBI) must not contain convictions that result in a direct nexus to the primary duties involving supervising minors.
Must document education and work experience in the application.

Responsibilities

Helping to run grant-funded afterschool programs.
Creating an overall safe and engaging space for youth.
Working directly with youth.
Providing on-site programming at Geneva Woods or Cedar Park up to 20 hours per week.
Organizing and executing monthly family nights.
Planning and leading field trips.
Providing ongoing support to youth.
Communicating with families about upcoming activities and events.
