Youth Development Coordinator
About The Position
Easterseals Vermont is seeking a Youth Development Coordinator to join their team. This role involves assisting young adults aged 14-23 in developing and pursuing their goals as they transition into adulthood and out of the foster care system. Responsibilities include supporting young adults in obtaining and succeeding in education, finding and maintaining housing, developing employment skills, building healthy relationships, and securing a healthy and sustaining lifestyle. Community networking and partnering are key to enhancing the success of the young adults. The agency works closely with the Department of Children and Families - Family Services Division and has separate offices.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in independent living services is beneficial but not required.
- This position includes significant local travel.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Must be able to manage finances and balance a checkbook.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be able to engage young adults who have experienced trauma.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
