About The Position

The Youth Development Coordinator at Florence A. DeGeorge, plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth and empowerment of young individuals within the community. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that support youth development, focusing on education, leadership, and life skills. The coordinator will collaborate with community partners, families, and stakeholders to create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages positive youth engagement and personal growth. By monitoring program effectiveness and adapting strategies to meet evolving needs, the coordinator ensures that all initiatives align with the club’s mission and values. Ultimately, this role aims to inspire and equip youth with the tools and confidence necessary to succeed academically, socially, and personally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience working with youth in community-based or educational settings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and community partners.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Youth Development, Counseling, or Social Services.
  • Experience in grant writing and program evaluation.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices.
  • Certification in youth mentoring or related professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive youth development programs tailored to diverse age groups and backgrounds.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to engage youth and families, ensuring broad participation and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and volunteers to enhance program offerings and resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, preparing reports to inform continuous improvement and funding opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship and support to youth participants, fostering leadership skills and positive decision-making.
  • Organize workshops, events, and activities that promote educational achievement, social skills, and community involvement.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and schedules to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and feedback to support program accountability.
