About The Position

This position will register eligible customers into the Youth Program. The role involves conducting employment searches, developing youth worksites, and coordinating job fairs and youth recreational activities. The specialist will develop an approach to set goals, skill attainment, employment search, and placement. Additionally, the role includes conducting outreach to generate new customers and business for the Youth Center, maintaining customer data, assessments, planned goals, outcomes, and other required records. Facilitating customer and employer satisfaction is key, including during assessment, registration, intensive services, placement, and follow-up. The specialist will work with Summer Youths to place them into subsidized work experience and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of youth services.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.
