YOUTH CARE WORKER
About The Position
Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Youth Care Worker at Walton Academy for Growth and Change in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Walton Academy provides residential treatment to improve the lives of youth through mental health and substance abuse services. They offer skills and opportunities to youth in areas such as Carpentry/Home Building and Culinary Arts. The role involves providing 24-hour security and supervision to ensure the safety of youth in a high-risk residential treatment DJJ program for male youths aged 13-19. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting behaviors, joining youth in sports and recreation, and mentoring them as they develop within the program. The company has a 40-year legacy of helping young people become successful adults and seeks passionate advocates to continue this mission.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and 40 hours of college education OR one-year experience working with youth in organized group activities.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour security and supervision to ensure the safety of youth.
- Monitor and document behaviors.
- Monitor and join the Youth during Sports and Recreation time.
- Assist and mentor the youth while they learn and develop within the program.
- Create a positive, safe and supportive environment for the youth.
