The position involves providing support to children/youth through the Youth Services program as they develop/ maintain skills that enhance the quality of their lives in the community. This role requires providing support with personal care, daily routines, and achieving outcomes from the Plan(s) of Care. The Youth Care Worker must understand and practice Support Solutions’ philosophy and values, using respectful language, connecting youth to preferred activities, and ensuring they have information to make choices. The role also involves integrating youth into the community, ensuring they are included, respected, and valued, while maintaining their safety and Plans of Care. Responsibilities include safe transport, proper use of agency resources, attending training, cooking nutritious meals, teaching life skills, documenting progress, utilizing electronic records, encouraging customer satisfaction, overseeing medication administration, ensuring personal hygiene and cleanliness of the living space and vehicles, and supporting the youth's religious/faith choices. The position also requires protecting confidentiality, participating in assessments, and providing decision-making support for the child/youth's health, safety, and growth. Other functions include exhibiting behaviors consistent with SS vision and values, practicing safe work habits, attending safety training, working as part of a team to achieve Quality Management principles, and operating vehicles safely.
