About The Position

Kids Above All is seeking a part-time overnight youth care worker floater for our Downers Grove, Lisle, and Naperville, IL locations. This position is for Friday and Saturday nights from 11 PM to 7 AM. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for meeting the physical and emotional needs of adolescent residents in a group home setting, ensuring their safety and appropriate supervision. This role involves enforcing policies and rules, assisting with recreational and therapeutic activities, making decisions regarding resident behavior, maintaining constant awareness of resident whereabouts, controlling visitor access and phone usage, teaching life skills, and performing record-keeping duties.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Maintenance of required DCFS driver approval standards.
• Access to an insured automobile that meets standards for safety to transport clients as needed.
• Must reside in Illinois.
• Must be available to work overnight.
• Must be available to work Friday and Saturday, 11 PM - 7 AM.

Nice To Haves

• 0-3 years of experience with teens in a social service setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and monitoring residents.
• Enforcing and maintaining consistency concerning policies, rules, and licensing standards.
• Working cooperatively with other staff in planning and supervision of recreational and leisure time activities within the Group Home and community.
• Assisting in planning and carrying out therapeutic activities for assigned clients.
• Making frequent decisions regarding residents' activities and behaviors.
• Knowing the whereabouts of each resident at all times.
• Coordinating the coming and going of each individual in residence.
• Exercising control over the admission of visitors and use of the telephone.
• Maintaining proper privacy and security of residents and staff on duty.
• Teaching and assisting residents in life skills.
• Performing required record keeping for daily logs and resident files.
