About The Position

This position involves providing education about drug laws, effects of drugs, and history of drug use to adolescent drug offenders. The role also includes providing information about drug-related topics to the community, collecting and interpreting urine specimens, consulting with court personnel and outside agencies, providing counseling to clients in drug court, staying informed about drug research, establishing relationships with treatment facilities, and offering out-patient follow-up to clients discharged from in-patient treatment.

Requirements

• Ability to prepare and maintain files, documentation, legal documents and various reports.
• Ability to provide education about drug laws, effects of drugs, and history of drug use to adolescent drug offenders.
• Ability to provide information about a wide variety of drug related topics to the community.
• Ability to collect urine specimens and interpret urinalysis results.
• Ability to consult and have frequent conferences with other Court personnel and outside agencies about drug-related matter.
• Ability to provide group, individual and family counseling to clients enrolled in drug court.
• Ability to keep informed of current research regarding effects of drugs and drug treatment.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with treatment facilities.
