Youth Care Provider - Overnight
About The Position
The Idaho Youth Ranch is a non-profit agency dedicated to uniting for Idaho's youth by providing accessible programs and services that nurture hope, healing, and resilience. Hays House is a 24-hour shelter for homeless and runaway youth in the Treasure Valley and Idaho’s only Safe Place®. It offers emergency shelter, respite care, and drop-in services, providing a safe, supportive, caring, and stable environment for young people. The organization values relationships, commitment, growth, compassion, transparency, and joy in its workplace. This position directly contributes to the mission by providing direct supervision of daily living and individualized learning plans for youth in the Hays House residential facility.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid Idaho driver’s license or obtain one within 15 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide care and supervision to youth residents
- Help with youth orientation
- Guide and support youth in carrying out daily activities such as morning routines, chores, homework, meal times, group activities and evening routines
- Implement the treatment strategies
- Provide a consistent, safe and supportive environment to help youth manage behavioral and emotional responses
- Builds positive relationships with youth by providing a consistent, supportive presence and engaging youth in ways that demonstrate respect, care and belief in their potential
- Carry out duties and tasks in accordance with the program’s standards and procedures (SAPs)
