About The Position

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services is a faith-based Christian organization dedicated to empowering children, young adults, and families by nurturing their strengths, resilience, and faith. The Growing Together Program offers a PRN position with a flexible schedule, requiring approximately 10 hours per week. This role involves providing strength-based, attachment-focused supervision to children in a childcare space at the Growing Together office or other community locations. The position aims to promote healthy child development, prevent abuse and neglect through trauma-informed supervision, and support parent education groups and community events. The role requires reliable transportation and flexibility for evening and weekend hours.

Requirements

  • Some experience working with children in a childcare setting or similar.
  • Ability to learn and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexibility in terms of work hours, including some evening and weekend hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with children and their families.
  • Strong emotional regulation skills, patience, and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with special abilities to relate to, and interact in healthy ways with, young children and their families.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a risk-free driving record.
  • Willingness to undergo child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and childcare/elder care disqualification list screenings.
  • Must submit fingerprints for state and FBI review as requested.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment physical showing no evidence of communicable disease.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in childcare or another related field.
  • Two years of experience working with children and their families.
  • Some college experience in early childhood education or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused supervision to children of all ages as parents participate in parent education groups.
  • Utilize evidence-based interactions with children that teach necessary skills and promote healthy child development.
  • Practice with a family-centered, strength-focused, and goal-driven approach utilizing the PCHAS Way.
  • Collaborate with the Parent Groups Coordinator and other Growing Together staff to support parent education groups, parent support groups, community events, and other early childhood trainings.
  • Work well with others and collaborate with other community organizations as needed.
