Requirements

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services, Business, or equivalent field of study from an accredited college
  • At least two (2) years of customer service experience
  • Must be CPR, First Aid, and AEC certified upon hire or within 60 days of hire
  • Possess a passion for inclusion, equity, and sustainability
  • Must be a self-starter with an entrepreneur spirit
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management, and organizational skills
  • Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends, as necessary
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in youth development, strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Social Enterprise, Community Development, and Innovation and Youth Development, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess the personal needs of Youthbuild participants and coordinate the necessary resources to provide to them
  • Coordinate individual and group services to Youthbuild participants in a timely manner
  • Meet with trainees on a regular basis, while also assessing their job and career goals, or immediate work needs
  • Plan and organize job search skills workshops to include interviewing, résumé preparation, and other necessary skills, while also organizing career exploration and motivation activities
  • Proactively promote the program to potential employers, along with developing presentations about Youthbuild to communicate externally
  • Ensure trainees are prepared before attending a job interview, and conduct a follow-up assessment to measure their performance while on the interview
  • Partner with the Data and Evaluation team to complete required Youth Build reporting
  • Provide recruitment and case management services
  • Connect trainees with viable job opportunities; and promptly follow-up with the trainee after placement
  • Meet regularly with staff to develop and maintain a consistent approach to supporting and expanding the personal growth and leadership skills of young people
  • Identify cultural, political, and social events or activities that may take place after work hours and organize youth participation in such events
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date service records of contacts with youth
  • Develop individualized, goal-oriented service plans with youth based on assessment outcomes and need
  • Assist with program recruitment and program education, as requested
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event
  • Complete other duties as assigned
