Parks and Recreation - Youth Basketball Official
About The Position
Ankeny's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for youth basketball officials for the 2026-2027 winter season. Officials will officiate Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball games for both boys and girls, ages 7 to 12 years old. Officials will provide leadership and support to promote a fun environment through good sportsmanship and safety for all individuals involved. Non-certified officials earn $14.25/hour and certified officials earn $17.25/hour. Officials will have the opportunity to stay on with the Parks & Rec department as a gym supervisor during the fall/winter if desired. Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- Must be available on Saturdays, November through February.
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Clean and neat appearance.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
Nice To Haves
- Basketball knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Will train officials.
Responsibilities
