About The Position

Youth Basketball League Officials are responsible for officiating basketball games for kindergarten through 8th grade. This is a seasonal position reporting to the Recreation Supervisor. K–3rd grade games are paid at $20 per game, and 4th–8th grade games are paid at $25 per game. Candidates must be available on Saturday mornings from January 9 through March 6, with 2–3 games each morning. This position will remain open until all openings are filled.

Requirements

Must be 15 and able to obtain a work permit, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Interpret and enforce all basketball rules and adaptations.
Supervise and control conduct on court.
Provide quality customer service.
Be ready to work at scheduled times.
Dress and act in a manner that is professional.
Follow all policies and procedures set forth by the City of Stoughton Parks & Recreation Department.
Examine court and equipment to ensure safety.
Fill out own timesheet accurately and turn into supervisor before leaving.
Cooperatively work in a team with other officials and supervisor.
Attend all game dates.
Communicate with Recreation Supervisor in a timely manner regarding inability to make scheduled games.
Be able to attend all necessary training's.
