About The Position

BASIC DESCRIPTION: Are you a high school student looking for hands-on experience in manufacturing? Miller Electric, an ITW company, is looking for a Youth Apprentice to join our Maintenance Department in Appleton, Wisconsin! This apprenticeship is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience while working alongside skilled testers and assemblers. As a Youth Apprentice, you’ll assist with various support tasks while learning valuable skills in a team-oriented environment. We’re looking for a motivated team player with a great attitude who’s eager to learn and grow. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Drafting/AutoCAD Youth Apprentice supports the Maintenance engineering and design teams by creating, updating, and organizing technical drawings using current industry software. This structured Youth Apprenticeship provides hands-on experience in engineering drafting, blueprint interpretation, and CAD applications. Apprentices gain exposure to real-world engineering practices, building materials, and mathematical applications while adhering to safety and security standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently a junior or senior in high school. Interest in engineering, architecture, design, or drafting. Attention to detail and accuracy in technical work. Basic math and measurement skills. Willingness to learn CAD software and engineering terminology. Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively. Good communications skills. Willingness to learn and grow. Ability to follow safety guidelines and work in a team environment. Good attendance and reliability. Basic computer skills are required.
