The Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) investigates deaths in New York City to protect public health and serve impartial justice through forensic science and medicine. OCME offers an opportunity for a selected student to gain valuable experience in the architecture and project management professions within a public service context. The selected student will gain hands-on technical experience through specific field assignments or task-specific office work, as well as a mentoring relationship with senior-level technical staff. The selected student will also have the opportunity, through a combination of site visits and on-the-job training, to learn about the challenges of technical research, technical review, architectural records management, and project management for ongoing projects in buildings under OCME’s jurisdiction. The selected student will assist with tasks to support OCME’s Senior Architect and Project Manager.
