About The Position

The Youth Advocate (Per Diem) is responsible for supporting and supervising young people during the daily activities in the Weymouth based Teen Group Home. This role offers a flexible work schedule and provides job training and growth opportunities while making a difference in the lives of teens.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
  • Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred
  • Residential experience preferred
  • Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred
  • Additional languages desirable, though not required

Responsibilities

  • Driving is required
  • Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents between the ages of (12-18) in the program
  • Supports youth with developing daily living skills
  • Provide per diem shift coverage
  • Deliver services in a culturally competent manner
  • Implement as required interventions associated with treatment and service plan goals
  • Participates in de-escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
  • Implements and adheres to the behavioral support system of the program
  • Acts as a positive role model for youth and coworkers, treating them with respect, dignity, understanding and fairness
  • On the rare occasion due to staffing needs, you may be asked to work your scheduled shift at any of the four residential programs in Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham or Plymouth.
