About The Position

Ruby's Place dba Restorative Pathways (RP) is seeking a part-time Youth Advocate (PRYH) to provide shift coverage and supervision for the group home, which serves self-identified youth with a reported history of sex/labor trafficking, domestic violence, or those at risk of such abuse. This in-person, non-exempt position involves providing support and assistance to Case Management staff. RP is an innovative nonprofit committed to ending domestic violence, human trafficking, and violent crime through hope, advocacy, and connection, offering services like emergency shelter, transitional housing, rental subsidies, mental health services, substance recovery, and wrap-around services. All services are trauma-sensitive, client-centered, low-barrier, and provided at no cost to clients. RP is led by survivors, emphasizing reflection, innovation, and connection, and aims to cultivate a workplace that values the voices of those most impacted by violence.

Requirements

A High-School Diploma or equivalent.
Two years of full-time experience, or its equivalent, working with the population to be served or equivalent education or experience as determined by CDSS.
Two years’ experience as a member of the social work staff in a group home or short-term residential therapeutic program.
21 years of age or older.
Exhibits integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care to youth.
Relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with youth and youth with special needs.
Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with UC, including Varicella, TDap or Tdap, Influenza, Fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Has not engaged in any form of child abuse or neglect, including domestic violence or has not been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual abuse facilitated by force or is undergoing civil or administrative adjudication.
In possession of, or will complete after hiring, CPR/First Aid, TB test, physical exam from your PCP as required by CCL Community Care Licensing.
Able to lift 25 lbs.
In possession of a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance, and be approved by RP insurance as a driver in order to drive agency vehicles.
Able to complete a background check, fingerprinting (Live Scan), and completion of all Community Care Licensing requirement documents.
Able to meet all licensing requirements of Community Care Licensing.

Nice To Haves

Experienced in child welfare and/or case management, crisis intervention, peer counseling.
Experienced in working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence.
Experienced in working in a residential setting providing direct services to survivors.
Understanding of the dynamics of trauma-sensitive care, as well as an understanding of, and sensitivity to, serving diverse populations and languages as it relates to family dynamics and other aspects of cultural practice.

Responsibilities

Monitor the facility during the day, evening, and/or overnight shifts.
Provide emotional support to residents.
Practice active listening with residents.
Perform telephone screening for potential clients.
Basic maintenance and cleaning tasks (cleaning, chore supervision, stocking, cooking, and general supply inventory).
Assist with data entry, filing and additional clerical duties.
Provide confidential, holistic, client-centered, trauma-informed services.
Orient new residents to the facility.
Provide back-up in-person or phone shift coverage to other Shelter Programs as necessary.
Assist with general program operations.
Fill out timesheets by assigned due dates and in compliance with the time allocations.
Actively participate in reflective supervision.
Create and maintain documentation of processes and procedures in relation to duties of the job.
Other duties as assigned.
