About The Position

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED
  • Relevant previous daycare experience working with children in a licensed or accredited daycare, child care center, or preschool
  • Caring and compassionate attitude a must
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Must have critical thinking, monitoring, negotiating, and learning skills
  • Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, and fun-loving spirit
  • Must have problem-solving and creativity skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Physical care of infant/toddler (including diapering, feeding, and cleanliness)
  • Following an age-appropriate curriculum, and developing relationships with the director, co-workers, parents, and students
  • Ensure the safety of the children, and cleanliness of the classroom, and treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background
  • Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
  • Maintain accurate attendance
  • Order supplies and materials
  • Utilize effective classroom management
  • Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
