About The Position

Auberle’s 412 Youth Zone is a downtown Pittsburgh drop-in center providing comprehensive, welcoming, youth-driven services to young adults transitioning out of foster care or experiencing unstable housing. The Young Adult Support Specialist builds trusting relationships with young people and supports their individual growth, needs, and participation in program activities. The position is primarily based in downtown Pittsburgh, with regular travel to youth homes and throughout the community, as well as travel to Auberle’s Main Campus in McKeesport for scheduled trainings, meetings, and events. The role involves varied hours, including evenings, some weekends, and holidays, and exposure to conditions common in domestic environments.

Requirements

Act 33 and Act 34 clearances and FBI clearance are required.
High school diploma or GED accepted.
One year of experience working with youth.
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, vehicle, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.
Ability to travel to youth homes and throughout the community.
Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, some weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Greet young people who enter the drop-in center and build rapport and trusting relationships with them.
Provide one-on-one support as needed to evaluate youth’s needs, address challenges, and celebrate successes.
Promote the activity calendar and encourage youth participation in program activities.
Facilitate and promote programs at the drop-in center to engage young people and meet their diverse needs.
Communicate effectively with providers and community partners who visit the drop-in center to establish and maintain collaboration.
Transport youth to appointments and activities as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation for tracking and reporting.
