About The Position

Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns. In this important role, the Peer Mentor provides strength-based, peer–to-peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to youth in a variety of settings, including home, school, community, group home, and other out-of-home settings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Associate or Bachelor Degree

Responsibilities

• Guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach, peer support and advocacy, all in accordance to the client’s individual service plan
• Help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
• Work in coordination with the clinical team while using his or her recovery experience as a positive model for clients’ process
