About The Position

Ascent Behavioral Hospital is seeking a contracted Yoga Instructor / Sound Healing Practitioner to lead evening programming for adolescents in a behavioral health setting. This role focuses on restorative/Yin yoga, mindfulness, and sound healing to support emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.

Requirements

  • Yoga certification (RYT-200+ preferred)
  • Experience with restorative and/or Yin yoga
  • Training or experience in sound healing modalities
  • Ability to work with adolescents in a structured, clinical setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional boundaries
  • CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
  • Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT-200 or higher preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in restorative and/or Yin yoga practices
  • Training or certification in sound healing modalities
  • Experience working with adolescents or ability to work effectively in a behavioral health setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to trauma-informed practices and patient safety
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Must pass a federal background check and meet facility credentialing requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or healthcare environments
  • Additional certifications in mindfulness, meditation, or somatic therapies
  • Experience working with high-acuity or clinical populations

Responsibilities

  • Lead evening group sessions in restorative/Yin yoga
  • Facilitate sound healing experiences (e.g., singing bowls, sound baths)
  • Create a safe, trauma-informed environment for adolescents
  • Adapt sessions to meet clinical and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to support treatment goals
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality sessions in accordance with the agreed-upon schedule.
  • Exercise professional judgment in modifying instruction based on patient presentation and group dynamics.
  • Maintain situational awareness and respond appropriately to patient needs or behavioral concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with designated hospital staff regarding scheduling, participation, and concerns.
  • Adhere to all applicable facility policies related to safety, confidentiality, and patient interaction.
