About The Position

The Yoga/Fitness Instructor supports Applied Medical team members by delivering safe, engaging, and inclusive yoga and fitness classes that promote physical well‑being, stress reduction, and overall team member health. This role enhances team member engagement and company culture by providing high‑quality movement experiences within a collaborative, service‑focused wellness environment. The position requires on‑site attendance and close partnership with Wellness and Hospitality teams to support daily operations and evolving program needs.

Requirements

  • Hold an active Yoga certification with the ability to teach safely and effectively across multiple class formats.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching diverse yoga and meditation classes to participants of varying proficiency levels, supported by a genuine enthusiasm for wellness and fitness.
  • Proven ability to lead fitness classes safely and effectively, ensuring proper form, participant engagement, and a positive class environment.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly across teams and contribute to a supportive, service‑oriented workplace.
  • Consistently uphold high professional standards and serve as a positive role model for team members and participants.
  • Bring a positive, proactive, and customer‑focused approach with a friendly demeanor and commitment to exceptional service.
  • Strong communication skills, including clear verbal instruction and effective interpersonal interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a supportive team environment through collaboration, encouragement, and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • An active National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited National Group Fitness Certification, such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), American Council on Exercise (ACE), or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), along with any relevant discipline-specific certifications.
  • An active CPR/AED certification.
  • Previous hands-on experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor class equipment to ensure it remains safe and functional, and make recommendations for replacement or new equipment when appropriate.
  • Record class attendance on sign‑in sheets for each class to maintain accurate participation records.
  • Contribute ideas for new fitness classes to enhance and expand program offerings.
  • Provide schedule flexibility by covering a variety of fitness classes as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Uphold participant satisfaction by seeking feedback, addressing inquiries or concerns, and offering effective solutions.
  • Maintain all required certifications to ensure compliance with industry and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with Wellness and Hospitality teams to support overall facility operations and wellness initiatives.
  • Perform additional operational tasks assigned by managers to contribute to the smooth functioning of the facility.
  • Teach additional fitness formats such as Pilates, cardiovascular training, or strength training if qualified and certified.
  • Support leadership directives by fulfilling duties assigned by Wellness and Hospitality leadership, including the Wellness and Recreation Manager, Senior Wellness and Hospitality Manager, Senior Director of Wellness and Hospitality, and VP of Applied Family and Community.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn.
