About The Position

The YMCA SuccessLink Youth Worker role encompasses various functions within the YMCA, including administration, sports & recreation, health enhancement, aquatics, child development, camp staff, youth & family, business & IT support, member services, child watch, parking, guards & monitors, security, custodial, and maintenance. This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the YMCA's mission of strengthening communities.

  • Available to work afternoons and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Lead a specific age group of children (3-13 years old) through a schedule of daily activities that allows children to learn and play, explore the community, participate in sports, and develop positive relationships.
  • Provide care to children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years, while parents engage in Healthy Living activities.
  • Play with and facilitate activities for children and supervise them while they play.
  • Manage member check-in and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct membership and program sales.
  • Take telephone calls.
  • Regulate YMCA lobby traffic.
  • Provide all membership and program information.
  • Assist in teaching swim lessons under the YMCA of the USA model with a Swim Lesson Instructor.
  • Serve as a key team member supporting the member experience by providing exemplary customer service to members and staff.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the fitness facilities.
  • Lead a group of children and adults of all ages instructing sports classes.
  • Support events and departments within the YMCA of Greater Boston, which may include Member Engagement, Social Media, Community Organizing, and Hunger Prevention.
  • Support with the overall physical condition and presentation of the YMCA center, ensuring facilities are clean, safe, and in good repair.
  • Support with general building and ground maintenance, including performing minor carpentry, cleaning, assembling furniture/equipment, landscaping, and event preparation.
