About The Position

Hy-Tech is adding a Yardperson to our growing team in Saskatoon, SK. The Yardperson is responsible for the continued organization of the yard, work vehicles, parts and drilling equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring all work is done in accordance with Hy-Tech procedures and following safe work practices. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:

Requirements

  • High school graduation or G.E.D.
  • Must be fully trained to operate a forklift.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and be a positive ambassador for Hy-Tech.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, developing strong relationships.
  • Perceive the bigger picture, tailoring your actions to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous partsperson, warehousing, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of diamond drill equipment and drilling methodologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of forklifts to load and unload drill equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are stored correctly in the yard.
  • Wash equipment using the wash pad to ensure contaminated material is contained.
  • Gather and load items listed in the Mobilization List to prepare for a job startup.
  • Conduct inspections of trucks and ensure all safety equipment, oil, fire extinguishers etc.
  • Schedule and track the maintenance and repair of work vehicles.
  • Focus on safety and maintain awareness of the environment in order to identify potential hazards. Understand and abide by all company and client policies regarding occupational health and safety.
  • Safely operate machinery and other equipment in such a manner that no one is placed in any danger, while following safe work practices and provided training.
