About The Position

The Yardman is primarily responsible for maintaining the construction yard by providing general maintenance, inventory support, and upkeep. The role operates in a field environment and involves physically active work, including extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting. Work may occur in inclement weather, including extreme heat or cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. The position requires the ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds, along with vision, distance judgment, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to distinguish colors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Two years of experience operating a forklift.
• Two years of experience operating a backhoe.
• Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a field environment and in inclement weather.
• Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, ability to judge distance and space relationships, precise hand-eye coordination, and ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

• OSHA 10 certification.
• CDL Class A license.

Responsibilities

• Organize and classify materials as directed by managers.
• Safely operate a forklift and backhoe to move and organize large construction materials.
• Retrieve materials for crews.
• Receive shipments from suppliers.
• Maintain the construction yard and provide general maintenance, inventory support, and upkeep.
