About The Position

Builders FirstSource is hiring a Yard Worker/Forklift Operator for its Missoula, Montana yard. The role helps maintain the flow of building materials through the yard and ensures customers receive the correct materials safely, efficiently, and with excellent service. The work is primarily outdoors and involves operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment, assisting customers, handling and organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe facility. The position suits someone who enjoys outdoor, active work and being part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months of related experience in lumber, building materials, warehouse, yard operations, or a similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with locating, retrieving, and loading building materials.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move products throughout the yard.
• Verify materials against invoices and customer orders for accuracy.
• Organize and stock inventory to maintain a safe, efficient, customer-ready environment.
• Perform routine yard maintenance and housekeeping to keep the facility clean and organized.
• Follow company safety standards and contribute to a culture of safety.
• Participate in ongoing safety meetings and training programs.
• Support team members with additional responsibilities as needed.
