About The Position

Builders FirstSource is hiring a Yard Worker/Forklift Operator in Missoula, Montana. The role supports the movement and organization of building materials throughout the yard and helps ensure customers receive accurate orders safely and efficiently. The position involves assisting customers, operating material-handling equipment, maintaining inventory and the yard, and contributing to a safety-focused, collaborative team. Work is performed primarily outdoors, with exposure to changing weather, equipment noise, and dust.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months of related experience in lumber, building materials, warehouse, yard operations, or a similar environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with locating, retrieving, and loading building materials.
Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move products throughout the yard.
Verify materials against invoices and customer orders.
Organize and stock inventory to maintain a safe, efficient, customer-ready environment.
Perform routine yard maintenance and housekeeping.
Follow company safety standards and contribute to a culture of safety.
Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Support team members with additional responsibilities as needed.
