The Yard Utility Operator role provides general assistance in the production area while prioritizing safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience with forklift and small equipment operation
• Previous heavy equipment operating experience
• General maintenance experience
• Understanding of mechanical equipment
• Automotive Parts experience
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide general assistance wherever needed in the production area.
• Maintain the safety of themselves and others.
• Use numerous types of equipment to move salvaged vehicles throughout the yard.
• Weld different types of stands.
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility through sweeping designated areas.
• Empty and sort core bins.
• Process aluminum, copper, brass, and other precious metals.
• Package and weigh core batteries.
• Remove Freon from scrap refrigeration units.
• Operate a forklift and small equipment.
• Respond to various types of customer requests.
