About The Position

Atlas Molded Products is hiring a Yard Switcher for its Byron Center, Michigan facility. This role moves trailers between the parking lot and loading docks, maintains trailer inventory, and supports shipping and production operations by preparing, staging, and loading orders. The position works Monday through Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The role requires safe operation of a switcher truck and forklift, accurate completion of production, shipping, and quality records, and timely communication with the supervisor. The work involves light to moderate physical effort and tolerance of temperature changes throughout the shift.

Requirements

Prior experience or training driving a switcher truck and backing trailers into a loading dock.
Forklift experience.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Basic math skills, including the ability to read a tape measure.
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and provide relevant, timely information clearly.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Basic computer skills for data entry and searches.
Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate assigned machinery.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely move trailers to and from the parking lot and loading docks.
Maintain trailer inventory, including tracking trailer contents and whether trailers are empty or used for storage, and update the trailer board at the driver center.
Safely operate and drive a forklift/Hilo.
Package material for shipping as required and ensure it meets customer requirements.
Pick, wrap, and stage orders for shipment.
Load finished product onto trailers for shipping.
Complete required production, shipping, and quality records accurately, neatly, and legibly.
Turn in shipping records to the supervisor in a timely manner.
