About The Position
The Part-Time Yard Staff member safely receives and processes consigned equipment, lines it up for auction, supports sale-day operations, and checks out equipment. The role requires consistent adherence to Ritchie Bros.’ standard of customer service. Yard Operations conducts live auctions around the world, relying on a team in full-time and part-time roles to support successful auctions.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license that meets the company’s motor vehicle policy.
Responsibilities
- Receive and release (check in and check out) consigned equipment for auction.
- Use auction listings to line up equipment for display before auctions.
- Drive and operate heavy and light equipment.
- Perform facility inspections using checklists and provide housekeeping or maintenance as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance on RBA-owned equipment.
- Manage equipment keys.
- Operate a forklift to load and unload stationary-row equipment.
- Boost equipment.
- Perform basic equipment assembly, such as attaching dozer blades.
- Check equipment fluid and fuel levels.
- Apply lot numbers to equipment.
- Set out signage, flagging, and trash receptacles for auction day.
- Drive the sound truck.
- Hold the “This item for sale” sign as a stick person.
- Place operators in rolling stock.
- Park sold equipment on the ramp.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
