About The Position
Dohrn Transfer is seeking a Part Time Yard Runner at our Northlake Terminal. This is an entry-level role responsible for greeting incoming truck drivers, collecting paperwork, coordinating door assignments via radio, and delivering documents to the office. The pay is $18.50/hour, with hours from Monday-Friday, 4pm to 9pm.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable using a two way radio
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Greet incoming truck drivers as they pull into the yard
- Collect bills of lading and other required paperwork from drivers
- Communicate with the dock via radio to obtain door assignments
- Relay instructions to drivers clearly and professionally
- Deliver collected paperwork to the office promptly
- Maintain a safe and organized yard environment
- Provide basic assistance and direction to drivers as needed
- Report any issues or delays to supervisors
- Perform other duties as needed
