About The Position

A Superintendent position is available at Garney. As a Superintendent, you will be making a difference every day by helping Garney build work. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and construction knowledge at Garney. You will lead daily self-perform yard piping operations on water and wastewater treatment plant projects. You will supervise crews installing underground and above-ground process piping, utility piping, and mechanical systems. You will coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and schedules to maintain production goals. You will ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, inspectors, and other trades to resolve field issues. You will mentor and develop field crews while promoting a strong safety culture. You will negotiate and purchase materials, maintain as-built documents, act as owner and architect/engineer contact, verify and provide inventory analysis, and survey construction job sites.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of underground utility, process piping, or heavy civil construction experience with leadership experience as a Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Experience leading self-perform yard piping or underground utility crews.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, utility layouts, and project schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, with willingness to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience
  • Water/wastewater treatment plant experience preferred.
